LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Tom Barrett announced on Monday that he will chair the Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Justice and Public Safety Appropriations Subcommittee during the 100th Legislature.
“I am thankful to Majority Leader Shirkey that he has challenged me with these important assignments,” said Barrett, R-Charlotte. “Infrastructure and transportation are critical to our state. My committee colleagues and I will work to craft important policy that will drive Michigan forward for decades to come.”
The senator will serve on five additional committees, including the standing committees on Energy and Technology; Families, Seniors, and Veterans; Insurance and Banking; and Judiciary and Public Safety; and the Community Health/Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee.
