‘New manufacturing jobs will further boost the Charlotte economy’
LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Tom Barrett on Tuesday praised The Shyft Group for the new hiring efforts at its Charlotte campus.
“Despite the challenges of the last year, The Shyft Group is creating manufacturing jobs in Eaton County,” said Barrett, R-Charlotte. “Shyft has been a huge part of the mid-Michigan community since its inception, and this expansion will further boost the Charlotte economy.
“On behalf of all our grateful area residents, I thank Shyft’s leadership for their continued support and investment in the Charlotte community.”
The Shyft Group, formerly Spartan Motors, announced that it will be seeking new manufacturing associates at its Charlotte campus. These new employees will aid in production of the new Velocity F2 van. The Velocity F2, a walk-in van, was introduced by Shyft’s Ultimaster brand in October 2020.
